Prior to the release of Naiyaandi, there were a high controversy created by the actress Nazriya - some scenes in Naiyaandi. Nazriya had gone to the Chennai police commissioner to file a complaint against the Naiyaandi film director Mr. Sarkunam, saying there were 3 number of scenes taken by body doubling for Nazriya in this movie. After creating heat in the media, there were some scenes of Nazriya were removed from the movie and released in the big screens.
