Deva Kumar is a jobless young man living in a village.
He lives with his older brother's family who has wife and children.
Due to family financial pressure, Deva Kumar moves to Chennai in search of his career.
There in Chennai he takes the topic of, 'Background of Policemen Suicide cases'.

In that he comes across recent suicides of some policemen including a lady police namely Saranya.
To get more details and truth about it, Deva Kumar approaches a lawyer namely Anwar and applies for Right to Know Information in court related to the suicides of those recent policemen.
At this stage Deputy Commissioner of Police Trivedi Sharma arrests Deva Kumar unofficially and keeps him in a lodge as an illegal remand.
