Interesting news of Poorna
Born into a Muslim family Poorna was the youngest with three sisters and a brother. As she had a passion for dancing her parents changed her school to St.Teresa's School, Kannur to give her enough exposure and enhance her dancing skills. Poorna was trained in all types of dancing entered the media when she took part in several dance shows and stage shows.
After several auditions ( a couple of films for which Poorna was booked did not really take off and never saw the light of the day ), Tamil actress Poorna got a break in the year 2004 for her debut film Manju Pondroru Penn kutty. She did quite a few supporting roles in Malayalam Films but was not given much of an importance.
Her first Film in Telugu Mahalakshmi ( 2006) made people take notice of her with awe. Her performance was lauded by all. First Tamil movie of Tamil actress Poorna was Muniyandi Vilangiyal Moondram Aandu opposite Bharath. Her second Tamil film was Kandhakottai opposite Nakul..Fans still remember her as Pooja the cute girl.
The Telugu Horror film Avanu ( 2012 ) gave her the Stardom which she richly deserved for her stellar performance as Mohini. Success followed success . Avanu was followed by Avanu - 2 ( 2015 ) and Raju Garu Gandhi - all super hits and all in the same genre. Poorna was then hailed as the Ghost Queen of Telugu films.Many critics had acknowledged her efforts as giving a new dimension to horror films. Tamil actress Poorna appeared on the cover page of several magazines much to the delight of her ardent fans. As more producers approached her with similar roles she had turned down quite a few offers.
On the personal side she had severed her relations with her boyfriend in the interest of bot the families,
Her commitment to her profession is seen to be believed. For the film Kodiveeran she had shaved her head to suit the character. With such commitment and class no wonder she has been one of the popular Tamil heroines and most sought after actress in South Indian films. May she succeed in all her endeavours.
