Born into a Tamil Family in Chennai, Ramya Krishnan is the niece of popular actor/journalist Cho. She is an accomplished dancer in Bharata Natyam , Kuchipudi and Western. While Ramya Krishnan was giving stage performances she was noticed by Kollywood movie makers Ramya Krishnan acted as the heroine when she was just 13 years in the Tamil film Velllai manasu opposite Y.G. Mahendra. That was the beginning of an exciting journey and she acted in over 200 films in all the South Indian languages and Hindi too..
