Born a Tamilian to the couple Ravi and Vijaylakshmi in Coimbatore in December 1994, 24 years young  Athulya grew up to be a charming, smart Techie. She is one of the most highly qualified Tamil actresses. After her schooling in Coimbatore she did her B.Tech in IT at Sri Krishna Engineering College and later M,Tech in SRM engineering College.

Athulya Ravi got the golden opportunity to act in the Tamil movie Kadhal Kan Theduthe ( her debut movie ) opposite Tamil actor Aneeruth in 2017.. This romantic film which was released in the week ending Valentine' day had a very slow pick up but later outlasted many big movies with bigger stars. It was mainly due to 2 P's .1. Presentation . 2. Performance. The impeccable presentation and excellent performance of all involved in the picture from actors to technicians including the screen play and dialogues had won the hearts of the movie goers,  Athulya's class performance and charm fetched her many more roles in the Tamil fllms.

 Athulya Ravi second film was Kathanayagan where she played a supporting role. This film had Tamil actors Vishnu Vishal and catherine Tresa in the lead..

Impressed by Athulya Ravi's performance in the film Kadhal Kan Theduthe Tamil Director V.Z. Durai cast her as the heroine opposite Sam Jones in his film Yemali. The star cast also had Popular Tamil actor/ director/ producer Samuthira Kani. The teaser of the film was condemned by many including her fans. For, it depicted her smoking, undressing and wearing revealing clothes. The audience would not accept it event though it was supposed to be due to unavoidable turn of events. She apologized sincerely for her aberration and assured that those scenes will not appear in the film. In this picture she had played the role of Ritu an outgoing, ultra modern, daring and independent girl .This was totally opposite to her real life character. So Athulya had to change herself totally to suit the role of Ritu - she shed some weight and changed the colour of her hair.

Seeing her extra ordinary talents and grace popular Tamil director /actor and her costar in the film Yemali Samudhira Kani gave her a role in the sequel to his earlier super duper hit Nadodigal. The Nadodigal -2 had several heavy weights including Sasikumar, Anjali and Bhavani..

 Athulya Ravi has two more projects on hand namely Suttu Pidikka utharavu and Yen Peru Anandan.

Athulya Ravi is a social activist airing her views in social media on key issues. During the Kerala Floods she appealed to her fans with telling effect to contribute for the flood ravaged people of Kerala to help them restore to normalcy. She had vehemently condemned the dastardly brutal acts in the Pollachi incidents, She along with the crew of Tamil film Yemali celebrated Children's day in an orphanage and brought cheer and smile on the faces of the under privileged one children. Her videos in Tik Tok have a huge following no wonder she is an automatic choice for giving a dance number in all award functions including the galaataa awards. All these are a clear indication that she not only gets more opportunities to perform stage shows and to act in films but her fan base is fast multiplying and may very soon put her on the high pedestal of one of the top heroine of the Tamil film Industry,
