Yesteryear Roopini to act in Tamil Films again
One of the top heroines in the Tamil Industry for about seven years from the late 80's till the early 90's Roopini had called it a day to acting and settled in Mumbai after marrying Industrialist Mohan Kumar.She was introduced as Heroine in the movie Koolikaaran opposite Vijaykanth( Tamil hero turned politician ). Hailing from Mumbai she went on to act later on in films like Aboorva Sahotharargal. and in many Telugu Cinemas too.
At the recent function to honour Maestro Ilayaraja she gave a dance performance. Following is the experts from her interview at that function to the media -
I can never forget my heydays in the Tamil Cinema . That was a golden period. I always cherish those memorable moments, When I was a popular heroine in the Tamil films Gowthami was equally popular. We had a very healthy competition. We never fought with each other. In fact we were bosom friends. Though there are a lot of changes in the Tamil Industry all my old friends and colleagues treat me with the same love and affection.
I have decided to act again not only as a heroine but in any challenging role. Plenty of offers are there for me. I will be very choosy, avail the best of roles and start another innings in Tamil Cinema.
