Samantha is a model brought up in Chennai, Tamilnadu and her first movie is known to be the Tamil movie Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya by Gautham Menon. After that she has started acting in many movies in the languages, Tamil and Telugu.

When the director Thyagarajam Kumararaja approached her for the Vembu role in Super Deluxe movie, her first response was a huge laughter over telephone. Then she has met the director in Hyderabad and spoke with the director for 2 hours and then she has accepted to do the movie with full heart. We need to note here that the commercial level of that movie grew because of her entry to that movie. Because that movie had Thiyagarajan Kumararaja as director and Vijay Sethupathy as one of the main lead actors. 

Modeling and Cinema Career of  Samantha:

In the beginning of the Career of Samantha, she acted in the advertisement for Naidu Hall as a model. On seeing that,  Director Gautham Vasudev Menon has got Samantha to act in his script which was getting ready in the languages, Tamil and Telugu at a same time. Samantha did the role of a Malayalee Christian who is living in Hyderabad in the Telugu movie Ye Maaya Chesave, parallelly in the Tamil version of the same movie, namely Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya pairing with STR Silambarasan as a Guest appearance. For the role of Samantha did in Ye Maaye Chesava, she was praised by medias including Sify and Idlebrain Reviews.

As the movie, Vinnai thaandi Varuva was under the same banner of Gautham Menon and Music Director A. R. Rahman, which team did the Tamil Senthamizh Maanadu, Samantha got her appearance in that great fest too.

After that nice introduction to the industry, Samantha acted in the Tamil movie Baana Kaaththadi in the year 2010. In the movie Baana Kathaadi, Samantha acted pairing with  Adharva who is the son of former actor Murali. In the movie Baana Kaathadi, she acted as a student of Fashion Technology. In the movie, audio songs are super hit and the performance of Samantha was appreciated. After Baana Kathaadi, Tamil movie Moscowin Kaveri was released in Tamil. In the movie Moscowin Kaveri, Samantha had done the lead role with the character name, Kaveri Thangavelu.

Then Samantha acted in number of Telugu language movies, Brindavanam, Dookudu. In the Tamil movie Nadunisai Naaigal, Samantha did a Guest Appearance, in the same movie; Sameera Reddy had played an important role under the direction of Gautham Menon.

Then Samantha acted in a Telugu movie namely Eega pairing with Naani. The same movie Eega was re made with the name of Naan Ee in Tamil. In the movie Naan Ee, Samantha had done a good part as an actress. In this movie, the back ground voice of Chinmayee suited well and good for Samantha. Seeing her dedication in the movie Naan Ee and Eega, opportunities started to dump with Samantha. She was booked for the movie Neethaane en pon vasantham - directed by Gautham Vasudev menon. Tamil actor Jiiva had done the hero role in that movie.

In the movie Nee Thaane en pon vasantham, Samantha made a spectacular acting performance. She acted as a female lover who loves Jeeva and becomes mad with her love and going to the peak level of expressing love. Particularly in the climax scenes of the movie, Samantha showed her acting skill at her high level in a style. Then Samantha acted in a Telugu movie namely Yeto Vellipovindhi Manasu.

After a gap, She acted in Tamil movie Theeya Vela Seiyanum Kumaru under the direction of Sundar C. Still the role was a cameo appearance of herself.

Then in the year 2014, she acted Tamil movie Anjaan as the main lead role pairing with Surya under the direction of Lingusaamy. Her role in this movie was a fun filled active young girl. She had controversies on her skin tone in this period of time.

In the same year she acted in Tamil movie Kaththi  pairing with actor Vijay under the direction of A R Murugadoss. In this movie she did not do just a role of a doll like character but also had acting potential in many scenes.

Then in 2015 Samantha acted in 2 consecutive Tamil movies namely 10 Endradhukulla pairing with Vikram and Thanga Magan with Dhanush. Both the movies did not do much in collection. But we can say come back year for Samantha due to her cute role those movies.

Then she acted in 2 super hit Tamil movies in 2016 namely 24 and Theri as a pair for Surya and Vijay respectively. The role she did in Theri is one of the remarkable roles she did in her career.

In 2017 Samantha acted in Tamil movie Mersal as the pair of one of the 3 roles done by Vijay. Her role filled the first half of the movie with colors due to her nice screen presence.

In the next year 2018, 3 Tamil movies released having Samantha in major roles. They are, U turn, Irumbu Thirai and Seema Raja. Among these, U turn is made just for her and she did well with her great performance. Seema Raja was one of the most expected movies of the year but went negative in collection. Irumbu Thirai was one of the hit movies of that year.

In 2019, she acted in Tamil movie Super Deluxe. This movie showed the brave side acting of Samantha.

In the year 2022, Samantha acted in Tamil movie Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal in which Vijay Sethypathy did the lead male role. This movie has 2 main female roles and the other role was done by Nayantara under the direction of Vignesh Sivan.
