Early Life of Rathna:
Rathna is from a Small village called P R Puram ( Prathaparama Puram ) which is near Velankanni of Nagapattinam, Tamilnadu. His parents are from a farmer background, one of his 2 brothers is working for BSNL and the other is running a store.
He has studied diploma in Automobile in a college near Samayapuram, Trichy. He passed with good marks. He has passion for acting since the age of 6 still he studied well till his degree. He worked for one year in TVS company to manage his expenses while trying for acting change. He has walked a lot in searching for acting chances while working in Chennai. Instead of catching an auto, he has walked to save some money for his food expenses and to continue pursuing acting chances.
As he did not eat well for many days, he even got an ulcer and was admitted to the hospital many times. If he gets chance while admitted to the hospital still he used to go and act if he gets a chance for acting. When he was working for TVS, one of his colleagues has given the address of actor Mansoor Ali Khan. After seeing him, Rathna has got his first chance to act. Rathna walked about 15km to meet Mansoor Ali Khan. Rathna acted and showed the introduction scene of the Nattamai movie and got impressed by Mansoor Ali Khan.
