Starting point of Vikram 2022 Making:
A known person has asked Lokesh Kanagaraj ( the director of Managaram that time ) whether he can say story to Kamal Hassan. Lokesh has said that I don't have story now but I love to meet Kamal sir. Later on, he had a discussion with Kamal hassan about his movie Kaithi. At the time when the release of Master movie was getting delayed, Kamal Hassan asked Lokesh why don't make a movie. At that time Lokesh did not have a story still. Then he has asked for 1 month of time for Kamal hassan and he has agreed to that.
Initially Lokesh Kanagaraj had another story for Kamal Hassan and he narrated it to Kamal. At the end of the narration, Lokesh has asked Kamal if Kamal has any story of any mind that he wanted to do but did not happen. For that Kamal Hassan said that before making Vikram 1986, Kamal hassan had a character in mind who can be the protagonist of a featured film but that character did not appear in any movie.
Then Lokesh has taken that character and worked on that character for 6 months of time and then he has come back to Kamal with the narration for about 90 minutes. On seeing that narration, Kamal hassan got inspired from there the movie Vikram 2022 has started. Then Lokesh took another 6 months to make the narration into a script.
