                      Tamil movie festival releases will always be special mentioned.Diwali releases and Pongal releases will be main focus of Tamil cinema fans and Tamil movie actors and producers. In that way Pongal holidays will be the main target for producers and distributors. Families will march toward theaters for Continuous 4 days holidays. So producers of big-budget movies mainly focus on pongal holidays to get box office collections. 

To release coming pongal holidays (TamilPongal Releases), but now only three movies are going to compete.Vijay starrer Bairavaa, Radhakrishan Directed movie Koditta Idangalai Nirapuga, Vijay sethupathi Starrer Puriyatha puthir are in the Pongal race this year. Now we are going to see previous pongal releases. Before that we are going to see from when fans expect the Pongal release movies.

                  Leaving the legends M.G.R sir and Sivaji Ganesan sir, in the next decade its Rajini and Kamal.Until then they acted together there is nothing Debate between fans. After they acted separately the debate started. In that, both of them shared a huge success in Pongal releases. In 80s and 90s both of their movies Will release every Pongal. Super Star RajiniKanth first Pongal release happened in 1982 with the movie PokiriRaja.This movie becomes a super hit at that time.

Universal hero Kamal Hassan released his first pongal movie at year 1981 with Meendum Gokila also a super hit. This both movies make both the legend actors to release their movies at Pongal race. Very next year Rajni sir released PaayumPuli at 1983 and that’s too become big hit. Kamal sir released Oru Kaithiyin Diary at 1985 and become huge success.  Up to 1986 both of them movies released at that pongal become huge success so they are not ready to leave every year pongal festival holidays. In 1986 Both of their Movies are released at pongal holidays that are first time both of their movies compete face to face very first time. Rajini sir Mr.Bharath clash with Kamal sir vikram. In that pongal race Mr.bharath become pongal winner. After then they decide to release their movies without

any clash. Kamal Hassan released Kadhal paris at 1987 and Becomes a hit. RajiniKanth released Panakkaran at 1990, Dharmadurai at 1991, Mannan at 1992 all were become blockbuster hit at every pongal race.

              

                      After 9 years RajiniKantha and Kamal Hassan clash face to face in pongal race at 1995.After Kadhal parisu kamal Hassan released Sathileelavathi And RajiniKanth released Baasha for pongal race. Rest is history; we don’t need to say anything about Baasha and its box office collection records. After that Rajini sir Stops to release movies at pongal. Kamal sir released Pammal.k.Sambantham at 2002,Anbe sivam at 2003,and Virumaandi at 2004.Excpet Virumaandi others not runned well Comparing to his previous release. After that he didn’t release any movie in pongal. After that Vijay ajith decade started.

                     At 2001 Vijay starrer Friends and Ajith Starrer Dheena clashed at pongal, both the movies become big hit in their carrier. At 2002 Ajith released Red in pongal race and become a average hit in box office.Vikram Starrer Dhool,Vijay Starrer Vaseegra released at 2003 pongal race.Dhool become blockbuster hit of that Year and Vassegra become Average hit.Vijay Released Thirupaachi at 2005 and become a pongal winner of that year. At 2006 again Vijay and Ajith clashed at pongal race. Vijay starrer Aadhi and Ajith Starrer Paramasivan released at pongal race but unfortunately both the movies are not runned well. Both the movies become average movie.

Once again Vijay and Ajith clashed at 2007 pongal race, Vijay Starrer Pokiri and Ajith starrer Aalwar released at 2007 pongal race. In that race Pokiri becomes a blockbuster Hit for Vijay carrier but Aalwar become disaster for Ajith carrer.After that Vijay follows the sentimental formula for releasing movies at Pongal race. In 2009 Vijay movie villu with same team pokiri but become one of the flop movies for Vijay carrier. Vijay released kavalan at 2011 and Nanban at 2012 and both become hit movies for Vijay. At 2014 again Vijay and Ajith clashed at pongal after 7 years. Ajith Starrer Veeram and Vijay starrer Jilla released at pongal race. This time Ajith Veeram become Blockbuster And jilla become one of the flops of his carrier. After then Vijay is releasing this pongal race. In between at 2010 Aayirathil oruvan and at 2015 I become Pongal winner Apart from Vijay Ajith movies.

                    In spite of other festival releases, pongal festival releases are something special. If the movie is good it will become huge blockbuster in Collections. Otherwise it will become hugeloss.Actor RajiniKanth and Actor Vijay is only having more hits in pongal releases comparing to others. Ajith is having less Number of releases in pongal race. Let’s see how would be this year pongal release would be.
