The film Thaarai Thappatai which is written and directed by Bala is confirmed its release for Pongal,2016. After ‘Paradesi’, Bala is directing this movie. Sasikumar and Varalakshmi are starring at lead roles in Tamil movie Tharai Thappatai. Thaarai Thappatai is based on the traditional Karagaatam dance. In this, Sasikumar is playing as a nadaswaram artist and Varalakshmi as a Karagaatam dancer.The crew of Thaarai Thappatai has done shooting in Chennai,Tanjore and Andaman.

The shooting of Tamil movie Tharai Thappatai had been done within 130 days.While performing a brutal fight scene, Sasikumar and Varalakshmi got injured and Varalakshmi got a hit in her coller bone. This film has showed as the most expensive film in career of director Bala.Chezhiyan takes care of the cinematography and Jayamohan, who wrote dialogues for Tamil movie Naan Kadavul continues as dialogue writer for this film.The music is done by Ilayaraja which would be the 1000th film in his music career.Tamil movie Thaarai Thvarappatai could be a remarkable one for the Majestic music director Ilayaraja. Shooting of Tamil movie Tharai Thapatai is over and the final technical and dubbing works is on progress.The music and trailer of Tamil movie Tharai THappatai will be released on a date in December 2015.
