In this page of Tamil cinema bio, we are going to see one of the special characters of the leading  Cinematographer P C Sree Ram. P C Sree Ram has been working as a cinematographer since 1982 in Tamil cinema. In those days, the status of media was not so good. In those years, people were waiting for one single video song telecasting program ( Oliyum Oliyum ) for one week of time in the national TV channel called Doordharshan ( DD ). Eventually the competition between the producers to present the programs in that channel was huge then. In those days, P C Sree Ram did remarkable revolutions with the camera he had.

When Mr. Jeyendra started talking one of the experiences he had with P C Sree ram in those days, Jeyendra had gone to ask P C Sree Ram for working with him in the short films for Television. Jeyendran had gone with 13 number of short films and started telling the stories of the films to P C Sree Ram. When Jeyendran had tempted to movie from the first story of the first short film, to the second one, P C Sree Ram has stopped Jeyendran and started describing all the same scenes ( said by Jeyendran ) of the short film with the narration in the style of P C Sree Ram himself. When P C Sree Ram explained the scenes with the flavour from his camera, Jeyendran has got impressed well. Then all the short films made in the collaboration of P C Sree Ram with Jeyendran were submitted to the Doordharshan.



After few days, P C Sree ram has got anger on Doordarshan because the honesty of P C Sree Ram has been hurdles for some Government officials related with the Short films telecasting. So, P C Sree Ram had decided to be away from those corrupted areas. After a time span of 20 years, P C Sree ram worked in the combination of Jeyendra with the movie namely 100 degree.

We shall see one more event explaining about the generosity of P C Sree ram. When the  director Shankar talked about his Tamil movie I, in which he worked with Tamil cinema cinematographer P C Sree Ram for the very first time, he said that, after fixing a camera angle for the first shot of Tamil movie I,  cinematographer P C Sree Ram has shaken hands with Shankar with the wording, we should have worked together since long before.

It is true that the combination of Tamil cinema director Shankar with Tamil cinema cinematographer P C Sree Ram should have been happened for the Tamil movie Indian in which Kamal Hassan acted. After two big box office numbers ( Tamil movies Gentleman and Kadhalan ), Tamil cinema director Shankar has thought that if Tamil cinema cinematographer P C Sree Ram is doing the cinematography for his next movie namely Indian as the movie contains scenes from different period of times. But when Shankar talked with  Cinematographer P C Sree Ram about this, P C Sree Ram has said with unfortunate face that all of his dates are booked for another Bollywood movie already.

With disappointment from the words of P C Sree ram, Shankar has went through with his previous cinematographer Jeeva himself, that Jeeva was the camera man for the Tamil movies Gentleman and Kadhalan. Even though Tamil movie Indian was a massive hit, later on, Shankar came to know that, P C Sree ram was not booked with any bollywood movies in those days as he said to Shankar. So, Shankar got very much disappointed that P C Sreee Ram refused to work with Shankar because P C Sree Ram did not like to work with Shankar. Then for the fourth movie of Shankar, namely Jeans, Shankar went to work with Tamil cinema cinematographer Ashok Kumar.

One day Shankar and Tamil cinema inematographer P C Sree Ram met together after the release of Jeans in a function. Then, Tamil cinema cinematographer P C Sree Ram has asked Shankar to tell P C if any chance for Cinematographer comes for working together with Shankar. Even though Shankar has got very happy, he has asked directly to P C Sree Ram the thing which was being a guilt in the mind of shankar that why P C Sree Ram refused to work with Shankar at the time of Indian. For that the answer from P C Sree Ram was a great one that P C has said to Shankar,

Tamil cinema cinematographer P C Sree Ram has said to Shankar that the cinematographer Jeeva who was working with Shankar for his previous movies, Gentleman and Kadhalan is one of the assistants of Tamil cinema cinematographer P C Sree Ram and P C asked that how can he interfere in the combination of Shankar and Jeeva and work for the movie Indian that P C got happy as Jeeva got a chance to work in a big budget movie in which Kamal Hassan is working and only because P C Sree Ram refused, Jeeva got the chance. But for the movie Jeans, shankar has went to other cinematographer than Jeeva. This is why  Cinematographer P C Sree Ram felt that there will be no guilt feelings in him if he works with Shankar there after.

After hearing this, shankar has got elasticity about the generosity of P C Sree Ram. If Tamil cinema cinematographer P C Sree Ram had said the truth to Shankar, Jeeva himself might have come to talk with P C Sree Ram to take the movie Indian by stating that Jeeva has no objection and as  cinematographer P C Sree Ram has said the other reason to Shankar, such situation was avoided. Not only that, when Tamil cinema cinematographer Jeeva died, Tamil cinema cinematographer P C Sree Ram came front to do the cinematography for the Tamil movie Dhaam Dhoom which was at the 50% of shooting at the time of the death of Jeeva and completed the movie.

This is one of the examples for the generosity of P C Sree Ram.  Cinematographer P C Sree Ram has done so many good things like this and diverted many biggies to his assistants to make them getting good opportunities. Many of the big named Tamil cinema cinematographers like, Thiru ( Thirunaavukkarasu ), K V Anand, M S Pabu, Bala Murugan, Ramji and Bala Subramanian are few of the assistants of P C Sree Ram.
