The movie starts with a flight journey in which Anushka gets shifting from economy class ticket to business class even thought she has not made the request for it and she gets the seat next to the seat of Ajith Kumar In that scene Anushka has been keep on making flirting to Ajith without stopping starting from Boston to Chennai. After reaching Chennai Anushka goes to meet Ajith to a Coffee shop and there a gang comes and tries to attack Ajith. After that nicely pictured fight, a flash back starts from the mind of Ajith himself.
The flash back starts from the childhood of Thala Ajith that his mother wants him to become a doctor and his father ( Tamil actor Nasser ) gives advice to Ajith to choose his future of his own. Then a rowdy ( Daniel Balaji ) kills the father of Ajith when Ajith is aged 10. Then the screen play shows Ajith in a jail, meets Arun Vijay and they become friends in the jail itself. After getting out from the jail, they continue their friendship and Arun Vijay joins Ajith in the gang of another big gangster. After serious investigations the gangster joins Ajith in the gang.
Then in a meeting of gangsters, Ajith takes his gun and starts firing all the gangsters and arrests Arun Vijay. Then only we the audience are announced that Ajith in this movie is Sathya Dev IPS. Then Ajith meets Trisha Varun in between his duty and helps the pregnant Trisha Varun to go hospital for her delivery. After 2 years of time, Ajith meets Trisha Varun in a court that Trisha comes for her diverse case. Later on, Ajith meets Trisha often and then they both become good friends and continuing their friendship for about 4 years. After 4 years, the marriage of Trisha Varun gets planned but the one single day before the marriage, an attack happens on Trisha.
After that, what happens to the child of Trisha, what happened to the one side love of Anushka with Ajith? Who did the attack on Trisha? What happened to the villains, Aashish Vidyarthee and Arun Vijay? are the questions answered in the second half and the climax of Tamil movie Ennai Arindhaal.
First of all, as this movie has the super combination of Ajith Kumar with the director Gautham Vasudev Menon, the major question raised before the release of the movie Yennai Arindhaal is, whether the movie will be an Ajith Kumar movie or a Gautham Vasudev Menon movie? Now the verdict of this question is, this movie is just a Gautham Vasudev Menon movie and not an Ajith Kumar movie at all. There is no mass scenes being in the normal Ajith Movies like punch dialogues / abnormal heroic stunts have been skipped in this movie.
This movie is going to be a break point for the cinema career of the Arun Vijay who has been in the Tamil cinema industry for more than 20 years of time. Because Arun vijay is the main villain of the movie and he has done his role with his acting performance doing many aggressive scenes like the acting of him in the scenes like, the Telephonic conversation between Arun Vijay and Thala Ajith scene. In this scene, the screen has been divided into two and both Arun VIjay and Ajith are on the screen. But Arun Vijay has dominated the scene with his aggressive dialogues as teh villain. Not only by the acting, but also the strong physique of Arun Vijay with six pack has given his the credit to give the maximum attention to him than Ajith is true.
Vivek does not have the big scope in this movie that he has come in Yennai Arindhaal for a small number of shots. In this movie, Vivek has come with some counters in between the normal dialogues of the movie. Then both of the actresses Anushka and Trisha are shown in this movie very beautiful.
Music in this movie is good that the combo of Harris Jayaraj and Gautham Vasudev Menon is back with bang. Not only the video songs, but also the back ground music is done well. Mazhai song catches the tongue of the audience for humming while coming out of the theater.
Over all, the Tamil movie Yennai Arindhaal can be enjoyed as watching a normal Gautham Vasudev Menon movie only if we enter the theater without the expectation of going to watch a Thala Ajith Movie.
