This is a travel movie in which Tamil actor Shabeer who is a lorry driver drives his lorry along the road between Trichy and Kaaraikkal with 2000 liters of petrol when the scarcity of petrol happens at Tamilnadu is well. In that travel, Thambi Ramaiyah and two number of couples are also getting into the lorry and at a situation of the Travel, Shabeer comes to know that he is in a trap and how he is getting out of the trap is the remaining story of the movie Nerungi Vaa Muthamidadhae.
The movie starts with the introduction of the hero role that Shabeer is a lorry driver who works for the politician Kaaleeshwaran ( actor Azhagappan ). The father of Shabeer is Y G Mahendra who owns a petrol bunk and his wife is actress Ambika. Even though Shabeer is from a rich family he drives lorry as he did not go through the schools and colleges with interest. Heroin Piaa Bajpai has frequent problems with her mother Viji Chandra Sekar and also Piaa Bajpai gets doubt on her own mother's activities that her mother has affair with another man because Piaa herself does not know who is her father. So Piaa Bajpaai has been expressing her anger on her mother often. At this situation Piaa travels to Malaysia for a music event. In day in that trip Piaa Bajpaai goes out with her friend Ragav and she is getting missed with Raghav.
On the other hand there is a love couple shown in this movie that they are from two different class society that one is from upper class caste and the other is from lower caste. As they get oppositions in their own place they step out of the town. Parallelly, the story of Tamil movie Nerungi Vaa Muthamidadhae has another guy who is getting searched by the police department. All the above said five characters are getting on the lorry and moving to Kaaraikkal with the driving of the hero Shabeer.
The director Lakshmi Rama Krishnan has tried to tell about many things like Treason, Gang Rape, Caste difference and other social problems, and also the clashes between the mother - daughter relationship and the father - son relationship and other few issues in one single movie. But there is no strong scenes to describe those thing. Placing many news reading scenes are making the movie to move instead of having the strong scenes to describe the seriousness of the issues carried.
Commonly the road based movies will have quick moving fast track screenplays and that factor is missing in this movie. Also the music has not given hand to the director of the movie Lakshmi Rama Krishnan that the admirable songs or fast back ground music is not present in this movie and making us to feel like watching a TV serial instead of a movie. The cinematography has given good color for some scenes of the movie. The comedy sequences with actors Thambi Ramaiyah and Bala Saravanan are almost boring in this movie.
