 A R Muruga doss has been one of the top most directors of the Indian cinema industry. How the Title "Kaththi" is related with the story line of Tamil movie Kaththi?

The title Kaththi is not kept just like that, as I worked with  Vijay for the first time in the movie Thuppaki and this time, Kaththi, simply. There is a close relation between the title and story Tamil movie Kaththi that Kaththi ( Sword ) is the very first weapon invented by the human race and this basci thing of the world is justified in this movie.

 Actor Vijay is doing a duel role in this movie, character names of Vijay in this moview are, Kadhiresan and Jeevanandhan. But the basic story of Kaththi is not about a father and son's story and this is not a gangster story. The core story of Kaththi starts and ends in the Chennai city. I can not talk more about the story of Kaththi. Then rumors and stories will be started about this movie then.

I ( A R Muruga Dass ) asked Vijay sir that I will definitely tell you a story when I (A R Muruga Dass) am doing the next movie after Thupaaki. But Vijay said, there is no need for that, we shall do the commitment now itself.Then I (A R Muruga Dass ) said, no sir, I have to tell you the complete story of my next movie ( Kaththi ) before going for the commitment. Then I came out of there after telling the complete story of Kaththi. Then I (A R Muruga Dass) received a a message from Vijay sir saying - Super na. He ( Tamil actor Vijay ) did not tell like that even for the story of Thupaki. Because the story line of Kaththi is the one that Tamil actor Vijay has not done before.

I ( A R Muruga Dass) can work at the place where I do not understand the language. But it is tough for me to work with the one who does not even understand the language. So, all my heroins must have known Tamil well and good. and should have the Tamil girls resembling face. By beating all my such expectations,  Samantha Ruth Prabu has acted well in the movie and she has given the soul for her role ( Tamil actor Samantha's character name in Kaththi is Ankita. Samantha is coming in the movie Kaththi with smiling face and with the perfect energy always; and she has given more flavor on each and every scenes of the movie Kaththi.

Then about the Music director Aniruth Ravi chander, within four days from deciding to do the movie with his music, Aniruth came with the theme music. When I ( A R Muruga Dass ) asked Aniruth how did you prepare the theme music even without hearing the complete story of the movie Kaththi. For that, Tamil cinema music director Aniruth said, how ever you will a theme music for the hero ( and smiles ). Then the cinematographer of Tamil movie Kaththi, George has handles the colors with his great talent in this movie. The art director of Tamil movie Kaththi is Illayaraja who has got national award for art direction before. Then for the action sequences in Tamil movie Kaththi we have Anal Arasu. So we have got many pillars in the movie Kaththi.

It is not an easy project to do a Tamil movie in which  Vijay and Ajith acting together. But if both of them come to act together, I ( A R Muruga Dass) am always ready for that. I can make the script for such big movie with Tamil actors Vijay and Ajith together within 2 months of time. But if such a movie ( with Vijay and Ajith together ) happens, that will be a very big thing in Tamil cinema.

What are the latest Tamil movies you like?

I have seen very few latest Tamil cinema movies. But in those movies, I liked 2 latest Tamil movies, one is Onaayum Aattukuttyum and the other one is Pannaiyaarum Badminiyum. In those 2 movies, to tell about that Pannaiyaarum badminiyum movie, we would have seen a lot of Mother sentimental Tamil movies, sister sentimental tamil movies, father sentimental Tamil movies a lot. But it is very tough for a director to take movie with the sentiment on a car and that thing was presented in that movie, Pannaiyaarum padminiyum movie excellent.Then about Tamil movie Onaayum Aattukuttyyum, the concept / script of Tamil movie Onaayum Aattukutty yum can not be imagined by any director of any other languages by any director. Tamil movie Onaayum Aattukuttyum is the best movie I (A R Muruga Dass) have watched this year. But it is making me to hate Tamil cinema audience for not giving respect to that cinema.

There is a lot of new Tamil actors have come to act in the industry. which new Tamil actor makes you to thing of making a movie with him?

I (A R Muruga Dass ) thinking that, there can be some variety of Tamil movies can be given by keeping the actors like,  Dhanush, Vijay Sethupathy and Siva Karthikeyan. To be more specific, the dialogue delivery of  Vijay Sethupathy is making the Tamil cinema audience to think as if they are talking with the character in person instead of making the audience to think we are watching a movie. I ( A R Muruga Dass ) will do movies with these new actors of Tamil cinema.

It is being said that the movie Kathi which is under your direction is from the producer of a Sri lankan singalam community?

Answer from Tamil cinema director A R Muruga Dass:

It is not a fact. In fact, the Kaththi team made production agreement with the Iyngaran at first and the Iyngaran production company only made the tie up with the Lyca Productions. When we made inquiries about the Lyca productions after hearing that some one is telling Lyca is a company from Singalargal Community, we came to know that, Lyca is not from Singal community and they are from Tamil community from Eelam. The other information about Lyca and Kaththi threads are just rumors.

Also A R Muruga Dass has told strongly ( with tensed face ) that not even a single penny from the works of himself and his team to the one who is a betrayer of Tamil people and we ( A R Muruga Dass and Tamil actor Vijay ) will never join hands with the one who is opposite to the Tamil people. Who ever is the enemy for Tamil community and Tamil, they are enemies for us too.

Why dont an important Indian cinema director like you should not make a movie with the pain of Tamil Eelam?

Answer from Tamil cinema director A R Muruga Dass:

Of course I wish to make a movie with the story related with Tamil Eelam. But for that as a director I (A R Muruga Dass) should have the freedom to talk about the who are the real enemies of Tamil people and what happened at the final stage of that war. I (A R Muruga Dass) did not have such freedom at the previous government and I ( A R Muruga Dass ) think now I have got such good environment to talk about that and to make a movie with the pain of Tamil people in eelam with truth and honesty.

Note: We shall remember that A R Muruga Dass is the director who have huge importance for the feelings of Tamil people in his movie 7 aum arivu and the basic story of that movie itself was about the proud of Tamil ancient society that Bodhi Dharma was originally from Tamilnadu.

Also A R Muruga Dass added that when we are getting the fighters from abroad to India, as teh movie crew, we are having huge fear and tensions upto getting them back to their nation safely. Even if those foreigners are struck in traffic, we will get phone calls from their embassies about the safety of the foreigner. But here, our government is moving away by telling that this is a normal event even if the Lankan army shoots out our Tamil fisher men.In this same country, when the Kerala fisher people were shot by another country army, those guys were arrested. But so far, is there any Sri lankan soldier arrested by our government? Definitely a director who knows about the Tamil environment must take a movie about all these things and show to the world and I will definitely do my part for sure in this issue.
