The core story of Naan sigappu Manithan is a complete different story that the main male character of this movie ( Vishal ) has a strange disease namely Narcolepsy, because of that disease Vishal sleeps down immediately if he gets and emotion in peak level like angry / happiness / sadness and ever when he gets feels. With this disease from his childhood vishal faces many problems and struggles in his life. In his school life he often feels sleeping down even during the prayer times. Starting from there he faces many faces and even he loses job opportunity that he fell asleep when hearing the word "You are selected for the job".  After realising that he cannot work for any company, he starts working online and makes monthly incomes.

Another interesting thing is that vishal has 10 number of lifetime desires and one of them is to walk alone on the road one day. To implement that desire he walks on road and meets with accident and in that accident he meets Lakshmi Menon. Later on the relation between vishal and Lakshmi Menon gets developed. On the other hand Lakshmi menon rejects a rich bride groom because of his character and Vishal is getting rejected by a girl because of his disease.

Later on Lakshmi Menon proposes Vishal with a lip lock for love. The funny thing is, Vishal sleeps when Lakshmi Menon goes for kiss but fortunately as he remembers all sounds when he sleeps, he remembers the love proposing word from Lakshmi Menon "I love you" and then their love story begins but when Vishal goes to talk with the father of Lakshmi Menon, he refuses to marry his daughter to vishal saying that he can not get grand children due to the disease Vishal has. Later on Lakshmi Menon finds the way /the solution for the refusing reason said by her father. With that idea Lakshmi Menon gets pregnant too.
