For this movie,Sasi Kumar has changed his appearance totally by removing his beard and mushtash totally. When Sasi Kumar spoke about this he said, he removed beard off his face and went out for checking whether people can identify him or not. The name of the movie was chosen to be Karakaatam in the beginning and later on it was changed to Thaarai Thappatai. The role of Tamil actor Sasi Kumar has been said to be as a Nadhaswaram master ( What is  Nadhaswaram? It is one of the musical instruments used during the Karakaatam dance ). Another special of the movie Thaara Thappatai is the 1000 the movie of Tamil music director Illaya Raja. The total number of songs of the movie Thaarai Thappatai is 12.
