The very first movie of Asin was in the Malayalam language, namely Narendra Makan Jayakandhan Vaka in the year 2001. Even though Asin got debut in the year 2001, she got her first notable break through in the year 2003 with a Telugu movie namely Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammavi in the year 2003. For the Telugu movie Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammavi, Asin received the filmfare award for Best Telugu Actress. The same movie Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammavi was did remake by Tamil cinema director, Raja who is the brother of Jeyam Ravi into a Tamil movie, by the year 2004. In this movie, Asin acted as a Malayalam girl who gets loved by the hero of the movie, Jeyam Ravi and in the climax of the movie marries him. In this Tamil movie, M. The movie sivakasi was released in the year 2005. Asin proved in this movie, Sivaksi that she is ont only a great actor facing any kind of roles but also she can do well with dancing. Other than the combination of Vijay and Asin, the movie Sivakaasi has another specialty that the combination of Asin and Nayantara worked for this single movie. Nayantara acted in this movie for a single song, Kodambakkam area danced with Tamil actor Vijay.
Then, in the year 2006, Asin acted in a Telugu movie namely Annavaram. In the same year, Asin acted in the Tamil movie Varalaru with Ajith Kumar. The movie Varalaru was a very big project ran for years under the direction of K.S. Ravi Kumar. In this movie, Asin acted as the pair of Ajith. In the music of A. R. Then she went to the Hindi cinema industry solidly and did not come back so far.
