The filmy career of Kushboo began in the year 1980 when she was a eleven years girl. The name of debut movie (first movie) of Kushboo is Thodisi bewafai, lawaris which was a bollywood movie. After getting exposed in the hindi film, she acted in many Bollywood movies until coming to the Tamil cinemas. She acted in many Tamil movies and some of them were great hits. Especially in the Tamil movie Chinna Thambi, Kushboo acted as a sister of three brothers opposing with the Tamil actor Illaya thilagam Prabu. This movie under Tamil cinema director P. Vasu ran in the Tamilnadu cinema theaters for about an year.
In the beginning days of Kushboo in Tamil cinema industry, she acted mostly with the Tamil senior actors, Prabu, Sathya Raj and Rajnikanth. Not only this movie but also the movies like, Nattamai with Tamil actor Sarath Kumar and Tamil actress Meena. In the movie Dharmathil Thalaivan Kushboo acted with both Tamil actors Prabu and Rajinikanth. The combination of Kushboo with Rajni worked out very well and so they acted together in many movies like Mannan. In the movie Mannan, Kushboo and Vijay Shanthi acted.
