Story of Tamil movie Madras:
As an area of North Chennai, two political parties are fighting together for a wall; and one of those two parties is a new party. In the fight, many injuries and soul losses happen and most of the affecting people from this fight are from the new parties and the public people. Followed by that, one of the Votaries ( Kalaiarasan ) is taking pledge that he will own that wall and use for drawing his party's symbol on it, for his party for sure based on the instruction from that area leader.
On the other hand, Tamil actor Karthi who is the hero of the film and a friend of that Votary who made pledge, is an ordinary man from that area of North Madras and Karthi is living with his family, job, love, lover. At a situation, Karthi is entering into all these politics without any necessity and make a murder too. Not only that, because of the entry of Karthi in these politics, his friend Kalaiarasan is also getting killed.
After that, Karthi consoles himself and starts to live his normal life with his family, job and love again. But then Karthi comes to know that the man who killed his friend Kalaiarasan is none from his enemies but one of the men who was with Karthi and Kalaiarasan and did betraying. Then the climax of the Tamil movie Madras tells us whether Karthi went in the mission of punishing the betrayer or he stayed with his love life? OR he succeed in both?
Madras - Review:
Role of Karthi in Madras:
The role of Tamil acor Karthi ( character name is Kaali ) has lover, friendship, clashes and fights at the first half of the movie. Karthi is attracting us in the first half with his good acting in all the emotions and situations said above. In the second half of Tamil movie Madras, Karthi has shown his other face of a perfect action hero. We could say that the acting of Karthi has done his complete acting effects in this movie in the scenes, when he is hugging his lover Catherin Tresa, kissing Catherine Tresa, and in all the romance scenes with Tresa. Also his acting in the scenes when he is getting emotional raise when his friend kalaiarasan is getting killed. As the peak level for the performance in this movie is the murder scene, that he has acted with threatening performance in those dark scenes.

Role of Catherine Tresa in Madras:
Catherine Tresa has also done her role good but she has no other work in this movie other than loving Karthi. But Catherine tresa has shown her acting well and her appearance is making the audience to come to the seat edge when ever she hugs and kisses Karthi in this movie. Especially she has done her expressions well and good in the scenes like when she asks Karthi, don't you love me !!
Apart from the roles of Karthi and Tresa, the other role of Tamil movie Madras, like, Bharadhi Raja who comes as the father of Karthi and the mother character actress Rama and the grandma of Karthi who is asking his often to give her money for buying betel for her; the friend of Karthi, Kalaiarasan; the character of Rowdy Raja who blabbers with Tamil words in North Madras style when getting beaten in police station and all the characters have given their acting talent for this movie nicely.
With the music of music director Santhosh Narayanan, the death song and Aahayam Thee pudicha songs are making us to hum the song after leaving the theater too. The cinematography of Murali G has even shoot the scenes well in the dark too. Even though there are very slight minus points with Tamil movie Madras, at the end of the movie, Pa. Ranjit has shown that there is no one else to take movies nicely about Madras area than him with his nice dialogues and direction.
