At 27th January 2014, there is a big honour happened for Dhanush that he has won the Idea Filmfare Award 2013 with the title of Best Debut actor in bollywood for his great performance in the Bollywood movie Raanjhana.
Film fare award is one of the most precious awards and each and every Indian film artists would aim for this award. Earlier from Tamilnadu, this Filmfare award was won by Tamil actor Badmashree Kamal Hassan for his Bollywood movie Ek thujey keliye. But this time in the year 2013, this precious award has been won by Dhanush for his movie Raanjhanna which was directed by Anand L Rai under the music of A. R. Rahman. In this movie Dhanush paired up with the actress Sonam Kappoor. this movie was released in the theaters by the month of June 2013 in both languages Hindi and Tamil simultaneously.
The movie shined greatly with the box office as it gave 1.2 Billion collection over all.
In the Idea filmfare Awards 2013 , Raanjhanna movie was nominated for all the following categories.

2. Best Debut ( Male ) - Dhanush
3. Best Director - Anand L Rai

5. Best actor in a leading role ( Female ) - Sonam Kapoor
6. Best actor in a supporting role ( Female ) Swara Bhaskar
7. Best Music - A. R. Rahman
